Richard Dirven is an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Head and Neck surgeon who was trained in Nijmegen at the Radboud University Medical Centre. He holds a PhD in speech rehabilitation after laryngectomy. Following his ENT training he worked as a Head and Neck Surgical fellow at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (Antoni van Leeuwenhoek) in Amsterdam for one year and afterwards he completed a clinical fellowship at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney, Australia.
Richard’s main clinical interests are head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery, laryngeal cancers, laryngectomy and voice rehabilitation. He is also CMIO (Chief Medical Information Officer) at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
